James D. McHenry

McHENRY, James D., 68, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly after a valiant battle with cancer on Tuesday March 17, 2015 at the James Cancer Hospital, Columbus. He was born May 11, 1946 in Springfield the son of Robert and Mildred (East) McHenry. Jim worked for Sutphen Corporation for a few years and prior to that worked at BOMAG for 20 years, retiring as plant manager. He enjoyed woodworking, building old cars and mowing his grass. Jim was a U.S. Army veteran and had been stationed in Germany. Survivors include his loving wife of over 48 years, Marty (Bumgarner); two children, Robert C. (Terrie) McHenry of Springfield and Nicole (Brad) Aldredge of St. Paris; five grandchildren, James Douglas McHenry, Shelby Lynn McHenry, Shawn & Nicole Palmer, Ashton Asa Aldredge and Taylor Rose Aldredge; sister, Patty (George) Roderick of Springfield; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Clairita Willmeth, Carol Ryan, Patt White, Carl and Garry Bumgarner and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday (today) in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday in St. Bernard Catholic Church. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the James Cancer Hospital or St. Bernard Church.
