Jacob L. Salyer

SALYER, Jacob Lee “Jakey Wee”, 14, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 25, 2022.  Jacob was born on December 28, 2007 in Springfield the son of Spencer DePriest and Catherine Salyer.  Jacob attended Springfield High School where he loved being creative and was an accomplished artist who loved drawing.  As a proud member of the LQBTQ Community Jacob was never afraid of who he was and never afraid to voice his opinion.  He was an incredibly loving person with such a big heart.  Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Catherine & Matthew Weimer; father and stepmother, Spencer & Misty DePriest; five siblings, Spencer DePriest, Jr., Lilleann Hembree, Rylan DePriest, Emily Nigh and Matthew Davis; maternal grandparents, Penny Corbin and Stephen Salyer; one uncle, Stephen Salyer; one nephew, Stephen Salyer and many wonderful friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doug and Gloria Weimer and an aunt, Elma Marshall.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME.  Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been set up for Jacob (in Catherine’s name) to assist with expenses.
