HOUSE, Jack L., 87, of Springfield, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 in his home. He was born April 10, 1929 in Brookville, Ohio the son of Howard and Dorothy (Wade) House. Jack was the owner and president of Custom Tire for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1996. He was a former member of Oakland Presbyterian Church, an avid golfer and founding member of Northwood Hills Country Club, a member of Kissell Lodge F. & A. M. and past Vice President of Sertoma. He was a North-South All-Star in football, held numerous state records in track, attended Indiana University on a football and track scholarship and later was inducted into the Springfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Jack was the recipient of the State House of Representatives Accommodation as president of Shawnee High School Athletic Boosters. He was married for 59 years to Janet (Jones) House. Survivors include four children and spouse, Jill Doan, Bart House, Brian (Kathy) House, all of Springfield and Eric House, Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Bailey Doan, Griffin (Jane) House, Gretchen (Kyle) Conroy, Sophia and Jackson House; four great grandchildren and one sister, Judith Claybaugh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet in 2008, a daughter, Lisa in 2016, a son-in-law, Michael Doan and a brother, Don. The family would like to acknowledge Hospice of Miami Valley for their wonderful care. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society of Clark County or Second Harvest Food Bank.
