Iva (Brickman) Thompson

THOMPSON, Iva (Brickman), 98, of Springfield, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. Iva was born August 14, 1918 in Springfield, Ohio to Jonas and Mary Elizabeth (Parker) Brickman. She was a veteran of the United States Navy, where she served as a Navy Wave during World War II. She later retired from Jamison Plumbing and Heating after 22 years, and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Carla (Joseph) Wren; two grandchildren, Paul (Nickie Davis) and Gina (John) Fidder; four great grandchildren, Alexis, Taren, Thomas and Collin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters, including her twin sister, Irene. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Richard Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
