Cochran, Inez Collette "Corky", 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at Springfield Regional Medical Center on Saturday, July 9, 2016. Corky was a champion gardener, tap dancer, chef, storyteller, comedian, military wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born on June 7, 1926 to Joseph (Giuseppe) and Mary (Maria) Cortese in Glouster, OH, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother Angelo Cortese, her infant brother Frederick Cortese, and her loving husband of 66 years Maj. Gen. Harry L. Cochran, Jr. She is survived by her sister Josephine Gleich of Columbus, OH, sons Christopher (Mary Ann) of Springfield, OH, Andrew (Mary Lou) of Annandale, VA, Robert (Barbara) of Loveland, OH, and Geoffrey (Leigh-Ann) of Bloomington, IN. She will also be greatly missed by grandchildren Casey (Megan) Cochran, Sarah (Dan) Cochran-Griffiths, Julie (Maria Johnson), and future great-grandchild. Visitation will be at CONROY FUNERAL HOME, Springfield on Thursday, July 14 from 4 PM - 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Teresa Catholic Church on Friday, July 15 at 11:00 AM. The family would like to thank the staffs of Oakwood Village and the Springfield Regional Medical Center for their kindness and professionalism during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Teresa Catholic Church.
