Imogene Stevenson

Stevenson, Imogene K., 93, of Sebring, FL, formerly of Springfield, passed away on November 3, 2015. Imogene was born on September 29, 1922 in Dunlap, TN to Orion and Alma Edista (Hudson) Kell. She attended Springfield Business College and worked at the Springfiled Metallic Casket Co. as a secretary. She also worked at the Excel Dairy, which was owned by her parents, for several years. She married Carl F. Stevenson on March 18, 1944. A homemaker and very active church worker, she served in all offices of the United Methodist Women of Grace United Methodist Church in Springfield, and has been a member of First United Methodist Church in Sebring, FL where she enjoyed her participation in the United Methodist Women and Esther Circle. For many years, she was a member of the Ohio Child Conservation League. She served as West Central District President for two years and was State Treasurer for four years. She compiled the 50 year History and Officers Manual of the organization; worked and was chairman on many State Conventions. During her Airstreaming years, she served as First Lady of the Miami Valley Unit of Ohio, Wally Byam Caravan Club Intl. For several years she served as an Usherette at the National Rally of WBCCI and helped her husband plan and work on a 30 day National Golf Caravan out west. In 1986, she moved to Sebring, FL with her husband and became involved with activities in the Golf Hammock Women's organization. Over the years she has served in many capacities. She enjoyed golf, crafts, entertaining, cooking, decorating and playing bridge. She is survived by her husband, Carl F. Stevenson; sons and daughter-in-laws, Don (Janet) Stevenson and Larry (Brynne) Stevenson, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Cory (Jesse) Stevenson, Casey (Kate) Stevenson, Robert Stevenson and Denyse (Dan) Isaac; eight great-grandchildren, Myah, Emma, Klara, Chelsie, Ashley, Jason, Lauren and Alexander; Sister and brother-in-law, Joanne (John) Wallace of Lawrenceville, GA; special cousin, Bill (Francis) Farmer; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be held in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Safe Harbor, PO Box 124, Springfield, OH 45501.
