Bond, Ida, 88, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in Heartland of Springfield. Ida was born September 20, 1929 in Springfield, OH to Hebrew and Constance (Johnson) Campbell. She retired from Clark Shawnee Local, where she was a bus driver for 36 years. Survivors include two children, Shirley Bond May and Billy Bond, II; two grandchildren, Jamie (Tammy Robinson) May and Josh (Erin) May; seven great grandchildren, Dylan, Colton, Keegan, Kacy and Kira May, and Sophie and Sydney Robinson; four siblings, John (Diane) Campbell, Mary Helen Campbell, Annie (Junior) Roush and Dodie Scales; sister-in-law, Esther Campbell; numerous special nieces and nephews; and special lifelong friend, Mirza Bowsher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Bond, in 2002; mother-in-law, Audrey Bond; two siblings, Ed Campbell and Dorothy Campbell Baisden; sister-in-law, Esther Penwell; brother-in-law, Carlos Baisden; special aunt, Faye Campbell; and special cousins, Doris Brooks and Steve Brooks. Ida loved and cherished her family very much, and always loved her job as a school bus driver. The family would like to thank Heartland of Springfield and Crossroads Hospice for their kindness and care. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Chad Vickers officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will be held in Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
