Gorsuch, Hubert Benson "Ben", 89, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife of 67 years, Sandye, and his children on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Ben was born on March 26, 1926 in Springfield to Hubert Edwin and Mary Nadine (VanGorder) Gorsuch. He graduated in 1944 from Catholic Central High School and remained an avid supporter all his life. He attended the University of Cincinnati, and then was employed as a Mechanical Engineer for Robbins & Meyers. After retirement, Ben worked for Beau Townsend Ford as a Service Manager and wore "many hats." He was a member of St. Raphael Church, the Toastmasters, a CYO coach, a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus # 624, and was an avid golfer and woodworker. A notable accomplishment in woodworking included his replica of the Delta Queen riverboat. Survivors include his wife, Sandra M. (Stoakes) Gorsuch; Children, Karen (Al) Ross of Lyndhurst, OH, Susan (David) Moehring of Cincinnati, OH, Diane (Mike) Shartran of St. Augustine, FL, Paul (Lee) Gorsuch of Springfield, Steve (Tina) Gorsuch of Vandalia, OH, Kathleen (Ray) Snyder of Houston, TX and Mary (Rob) Myers of Springfield; also 31 grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Benny Jr. in 2011; two brothers and four sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 in St. Raphael Church. Visitation will be held at the church staring at 1:00 p.m. with the Knights of Columbus service beginning at 1:15pm. Interment will then be held in Calvary Cemetery followed by a joyous celebration of his life at the Knights of Columbus hall on Bird Road.
