Herbert R. Gallagher

Gallagher, Herbert R., 81, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Springfield Masonic Community. He was born in Springfield on August 23, 1935 the son of Leo and Frances (Elliott) Gallagher. He retired from Navistar in 1987 after 30 years of service. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, a member of D.A.V. Chapter 13, V.F.W. Post 3660 and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his sister, Patricia Roddy; nephew, Kevin (Julie) Roddy; great niece, Kacy Roddy; niece, Alice Judd; special friend, Karen Long; many friends and staff at Hearth & Home at Harding and other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel and sister, Mary Lou Gallagher. The family would like to give a special thanks to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton and Springfield Masonic Community for their comfort and care. Per his request, there will be no visitation or service.
