Wickham, Henry P., 89, passed away in his home on Monday, June 29, 2015. He was born on November 9, 1925 in Matawan, New Jersey to Mary Shouvlin Wickham and Henry G. Wickham, both of Springfield. Henry graduated from St. George's School in Newport, R.I. and Williams College in Williamstown, MA. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served in the Atlantic as a sonar man aboard the ATR-7 search and rescue vessel. Henry and his bride Patricia (Seaman) moved to Springfield in 1949 where he began his career at the Wickham Piano Plate Co. (1889-1985). He was a member of the National Association of Music Merchants, National Piano Travelers Association, was an instructor for the Piano Technicians Guild, and past secretary for the American Foundrymen's Society. Henry was an avid supporter of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, twice serving as its board president. Together with Jackson C. Wiley, Henry was co-founder of the Springfield Summer Arts Festival. He was a member of the Springfield Country Club, where he enjoyed games of golf, bridge and gin rummy with his friends. He is survived by his wife Patricia and his six children: Cathy, Henry (Alice), Mary, Barbara (Chris), Joseph (Kara), and Thomas (Rui), ten grandchildren and two great grand-children. Visitation will be held in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Raphael Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
