Gretchen A. Herrman

HERRMAN, Gretchen A., 79 of Springfield, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Hearth and Home at Harding. She was born September 21, 1938 in Quincy, MA the daughter of L. Martin and Kathleen (Wolfe) Uhler. Gretchen worked as a lab tech at Mercy Hospital for over 20 years. Survivors include her four children, Karen (Vernon Gowdy) Mathis, Margaret (Charles) Hogan, Theresa (Rick) Brewer and Gretchen (Ron) Hovda; eight grandchildren, Hailey, Michael (Shauna), Matthew, Christopher (Danielle), Ashley (Chase), Dawn (Ross), Ron (Allison) and Patrick; five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Blake, Knox, Addison and Emery; two sisters, Sis. Kathleen Uhler and Elsa (Francis) McNulty and one brother-in-law, John (Joyce) Herrman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard Church.
