Engle, Glenna (Davis), 98, went home to heaven on Friday, May 6, 2016. She was born February 17, 1918 to Charles and Inez (Chatfield) Howson in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Grady Davis and her second husband, Homer Engle; also her parents, two sisters, Florence Wallace and Ethel Mae Howson, one brother, Norman Howson, half-brothers, Earl and Ernest Howson, her sons Leroy Davis and Kurt Davis, and one great great grandson. Glenna is known for her strong faith in God, generous hospitality, strong work ethic, overflowing gratefulness that kept her persevering through her life. She raised 7 children, helped manage the farm, was involved at Lawrenceville Church of God and then North Hills Church of God as well as Heritage Fellowship. She was very active in Town & Country School for the handicapped, sang in Vintage Voices, and enjoyed painting, crocheting and sewing. Children were the joy of her life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Mary (Hitt), Ethel (Bob) Brodbeck, Jim (Pat) Davis, Cindi (Jim) Hearne, Keith (Shari) Davis; her grandchildren Dave (Grace), Dale (Camilla), Terry, Rebekah (Patrick), Robin (Craig), Lori (Mike), Bartley, Bradley, Mandi (Joe), Joshua (Hannah), Matthew (Elisa) and Jason (Lindsey); 13 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. A gathering of family and friends will be held at CONROY FUNERALHOME on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. Russ Dickerson officiating.
