Conaway, Jr., George Roy, 63, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on July 13, 1953 the son of George Roy and Rosemarie (Bernhard) Conaway, Sr. George owned his own trucking business and enjoyed working on cars. He was a lover of life, magician to many and prankster to all. His sense of humor will be missed greatly by those who knew him well, and those unfortunate few who happened across his path. Survivors include his four children and spouses, Kate (Ty) Perschbacher of New Mexico, George Roy (Caitlin) Conaway, III of Troy, Anna (Justin) Shearin of North Carolina and Jacob Conaway of Springfield; their mother, Dorothy Waugh; three grandchildren, Audrey and Lydia Perschbacher and George Roy Conaway, IV; one grandson on the way; two sisters and spouses, Cindy (Don) Gill and Diane (Mark) Doughty and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm, Saturday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. His family will receive friends two and ½ hours prior, beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, George has requested jokes, magic tricks, whoopee cushions, suitcases full of money, or if you prefer, a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. George would also like stories about him to be shared with his kids and grandkids.
