MAROUS, George Richard, 80, of Springfield, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20th in Springfield, Ohio. He was born September 1, 1936 in West View, Pennsylvania to Joseph J. Marous and Marie (Beran) Marous. He is survived by his loving wife of 49-3/4 years Mary Lynn (Schneider) Marous, daughter Jennifer (Brian) Brunet of Fairview, NC, son James (Jennifer) Marous of South Vienna, OH, 4 grandsons; Kristofor, Brandon, Nicholas and Levi, sisters Barbara Linkenhoker of Springfield, OH and Bea (Bernie) Pauly of Erie, PA and brother Albert Marous of Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rosemary Klenke and brother Joseph Marous. George honorably served his country for 11 years in the Air National Guard with the 269th Combat Communications Squadron in Springfield, OH and was mobilized for the Cuban Missile Crisis. He spent his career in the electric motor industry retiring in 2000 from Machine Products Corporation in Dayton, OH and worked for many years prior at Robbins & Myers in Springfield, OH. He loved to camp and always enjoyed a good campfire with his wife and family. George was known by all as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and the man who could fix anything with nothing. Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1612 S. Belmont Ave., Springfield, OH at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 26th with Pastor Roger Herrig officiating. Family will receive guests one hour prior at the church and a celebration of life will follow the service.
