George H. Murphy, III

Murphy, III, George H., 60 of Springfield, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023.  He was born on October 8, 1962 in Springfield the son of George H. and Mary Ann (Griffin) Murphy, Jr.  George was a 1980 graduate of Catholic Central High School.  He was a car salesman for many years.  He was also a graduate of the Culinary Institute of New Orleans and spent many years in the restaurant business.  Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Mark (Christi) Murphy; sister and brother-in-law, Terri (John) Day and six nieces and nephews, Mark (Denise) Murphy, Jr., Amy Murphy (Nick Bullen), Meagan Day (Mike Borja), John (Julie) Day, Jr., Maureen Day (David Weaver) and Shannon Day (Jules Missioni).  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dan Murphy.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Teresa Catholic Church.  His family will receive friends on Friday from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in CONROY FUNERAL HOME.  Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Central School.
