George E. Elam

Elam, George E., 76, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Wheelwright, Kentucky on August 28, 1939 the son of Russell and Maudie (Staniford) Elam. He was a member of Abundant Life Church and was retired from Navistar. Survivors include his daughter, Latisha "Tee" Elam; three sisters, Della Grim, Sharon Smith and Mary Frances Blair; brother, Bill Elam; granddaughter, Alexandra Elam; daughter-in-law, Lisa Elam; three sisters-in-law, Louise Nokes, Linda Hayner and Nellie Ramey; mother-in-law, Stella Ramey; very close friends, Rachel, Connor and Chandler and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet, son, George "Scrappy" Elam, Jr., three brothers and one sister. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Greg Jones officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
