Smith Gary Lee, 72, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016 in Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Springfield on February 25, 1944 to George and Flora (Dickerson) Smith. He worked at Kelsey Hayes for 30 years and later volunteered as a Ranger at National Links Golf Course. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Men's Group and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Survivors include his fiance, Joy Tuttle; five sons and spouses, Brian (Wendee) Smith of Springfield, Kevin (Christine) Smith of South Charleston, Matthew (April) Smith of Williamstown, Kentucky, Mark (Renee) Smith and Michael (Jessica) Smith all of Springfield; 16 grandchildren, Jered, Lakin, Austin, Owen, Justin, Jaidin, Alexander, Shon-Nathaniel, Trinity, Jalyssa, Alexis "Sissy" (Matt), Hailey, Adalynn, Paige, Sarah and Hunter and one great grandson, Romeo. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Brown and three brothers, Lawrence, Robert and Alfred Smith. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
