STEVENS, Gary L., 62, of Yellow Springs, passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born February 15, 1952 in Jamestown, Ohio, the son of Cecil and Betty (Young) Stevens. He worked as a truck driver for Montgomery County for 23 years and was an avid bowler for many years where he made many lifelong friends along the way. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Barb (Routzong); two children Heather Stevens and Brandon (Lindsay) Stevens; half sister, Frances Stevens; one brother, Randy (Mary) Stevens; one sister, Rhonda Thiel; three brother-in-laws, Paul (Marsha) Routzong, Doug Routzong, Steve Routzong and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, and his beloved dogs, Summer and Dieken. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Keith Stevens, a sister-in-law, Connie Chimento and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Vivian Routzong. Gary was a beloved husband and father who greatly loved his family. The family would like to thank the cardiac staff at Miami Valley Hospital for all their efforts and support, and a special thanks to Dalena Clever for going above and beyond to help Gary. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Pete Creamer officiating. Burial will follow in Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
