Pace, Gary John, 71, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. Gary was born June 21, 1946 in Townsville, Australia to Therman and Gloria (Shelley) Pace. He retired from Navistar after 43 years, and was a member of the Union Club, the Machinist Club, the Buckeye Club and the Moose Lodge. He was also an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan and Cleveland Browns fan. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marsha (Hoyt) Pace; three children, Shelley (Jim) Metz, Jason (Amanda) Pace and Summer Pace; three grandchildren, Nate Metz, and Isaiah and Josie Pace; three siblings, T.J. Pace, Vince Pace and Cherie (John) Scott; two nephews, Ryan and Sean Graham; and numerous cousins and relatives both here and in Australia. He was preceded in death by his father and numerous friends. His family would like to relay that even at the end, he was still too good looking for his height. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Union Club. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
