Frieda M. Kunkel

Kunkel, Frieda M., 65, of Springfield, passed away on March 14, 2016 in Essex of Springfield. Frieda was born on April 24, 1950 in Springfield to Godfrey and Mary (Fogarty) Kunkel. She had been employed as an Editorial Assistant in the Foreign Technology Division for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for 31 years before retiring in 2000. She was a member a St. Joseph Church and the American Business Women's Association. Survivors include three sisters, Cecilia Wile and Barbara Kunkel of Springfield, and Mary Rita (Ernie) Dolihite of Lexigton, KY; nieces and nephews, Julie (Steve) Spencer, John (Megan) Wile, David (Catherine) Wile, Leslie (Robert) Jones and Brian Dolihite; special cousins, Chris Harris and Helen Krumholtz; friends, Nancy Torrence, Helen Sacksteder, Pam Brown, Mary O'Brien and Mary Ann Gregson. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-7 p.m in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home with Fr. Bill Kramer officiating. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the City of Springfield Paramedic Trust Fund, 350 N. Fountain Ave., Springfield, OH 45504.
