Franklin C. 'Skeeter' McMullen

McMULLEN, Franklin C. "Skeeter", 75, of Springfield, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 in the VA Medical Center in Dayton. He was born March 10, 1938 in St. Marys, Ohio the son of Clyde and Bernedette (Cottrell) McMullen. He retired after 20 years in the United States Navy. He was a member of The Union Club, Eagles #397, Moose Lodge, Machinist Club, D.A. V. and a lifelong member of V.F.W. #1031. Survivors include his five daughters, Dawn Anderson, Oregon, Rebecca Hawke, Dayton, Tammy Hartley, Tonia & Donald Boldman, all of Springfield and Penny & John Gibson, Jackson Center, Ohio; one son, Victor Timothy Salyer; grandchildren, Daria Anderson, Sara Hartley, Danielle Powell, Matthew Staples, Dalton Boldman, Robert Hawke, Leslie Hawke and Brett Hawke; numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Mardella Hesson and a brother, Wayne McMullen. He was preceded in death by his wife Laura Lee in 2005 and his parents. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME and from 12 to 1 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Mullinix officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
