Erin M. Perks

Perks, Erin M., 35, of Springfield, passed away on December 15, 2013 in her residence. Erin was born May 29, 1978 in Springfield, OH the daughter of Edgar Hanson, Sr. and Stephanie (DeWitt) Luther. She was employed as the School Resource Officer for Springfield Clark-CTC, and was a part-time Deputy Sheriff with the Clark County Sheriff's Office. Erin's life-long dream was to serve in law enforcement, but she found her true calling as a school resource officer. Erin often spoke about the time she spent with the students and staff and truly enjoyed every day with them. Survivors, along with her parents, include two children, Mack and Emma Perks; and their father, David Perks, Springfield; a brother, Edgar (Samantha) Hanson Jr. and their son Henry; a sister, Maggie (Danny) Dover, Columbus; brothers, Taylor Lapp and Garrett Lapp, Springfield; step-sister, Michelle Stewart, Nokomis, FL; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Proceeded in death by her grandparents, Dr. Lewis J. and Elaine Brunk, and Hughey W. DeWitt. The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice of Miami Valley. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Fellowship Christian Church with Pastors Rick Ives and Brent Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, 1145 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH.
