Hoffman, Elizabeth K., 97, passed away on October 1, 2015. She was born on July 17, 1918 in Quincy, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph Samuel Kneisley and Cora (Coder) Kneisley. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1936 and from the Community Hospital (then City Hospital) School of Nursing in 1939. She began her nursing career at City Hospital, opting to work in Labor and Delivery. She took a leave of absence in 1943 to pursue her education and graduated from Wittenberg University (then Wittenberg College) in 1945 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She worked at City/Community Hospital for a total of 44 years and retired in 1986, saying "I knew it was time to retire when the granddaughters were having babies!" She was married to Paul Hoffman for over 64 years until his death in 2006. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at Wittenberg; Neal Chapter No. 522, Order Of The Eastern Star; and High Street Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Phillip of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, J. Scott and Jayne Hoffman of Tampa, Florida; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Kevin and Shannon Hoffman of Roswell, Georgia; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Amy and Chuck Bridges, and great-granddaughter Kaylie all of Greenville, New Hampshire. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Hugh A. Kneisley and J. Wayne Kneisley, as well as a nephew, Stephen Kneisley. Funeral services will be held at the CONROY FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Paul Price officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior starting at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held in Ferncliff Cemetery. In accordance with her wishes, in lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to the Animal Welfare League of Clark County or your favorite charity.
