Shiddenhelm, Eleanor F., 98, of Springfield, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Springfield on August 23, 1917 the daughter of Sebastian and Caroline (Lins) Kuss. She worked in the offices of Robbins and Myers and later at the Licensed Practical Nursing Association. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Altar Rosary Sodality, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Fr. Bernard Guild, St. Teresa Bereavement Committee and Elderly United. She volunteered at Mercy Medical Center, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Right to Life, Oakwood Village and Rosary making. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Judy Shiddenhelm of Columbus; two grandchildren, Sara (Andy) Marquand and Michael Zugelder; three great grandchildren, Ava and Juliana Zugelder and Alyse Marquand; brother, Carl Kuss and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1989; children, John, Mary Ann, Martin, Alan Shiddenhelm and Carolyn Zugelder; sister, Mary Walker and brother, Robert Kuss. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Teresa Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
