KOEHLER, Elaine C., 88, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 in the Ohio Masonic Home. She was born August 22, 1925 in Cleveland the daughter of Edward and Louise (Kindle) Ebenger. Survivors include three children, Carl Koehler, Jr., Anthony Koehler, both of Springfield and Mary Ann Snyder, Buffalo, New York; two grandchildren, Carl, III and Stephen and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl in 1983, brother, Edward, four sisters, Ruth, Margie, Dorothy, Marie and a stepmother, Florence (Rosenberry) Ebenger. Elaine, who was known as "Bunny" to all who knew and loved her, was the featured vocalist of the Forrest Reck Combo from 1945 until the birth of her first child in 1959. The band provided dance music at Cabanas Club, Terrace Gardens, Springfield Country Club, Starlite Ballroom at Indian Lake and numerous other entertainment facilities in the Springfield area. Friends may call from 3-6:00 p.m. on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Fr. James Thielen officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
