Fancett, Edward "Ed", father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, died from Covid-19 on December 17, 2021. The eldest of six children, Ed grew up in a rural area of Cincinnati, Ohio. He enjoyed hiking the local woods, spending much time in search of fossils, minerals and arrowheads. This interest led to many 1st place awards in the local science fairs. After High School, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served in the Seabees Construction Battalion in Vietnam.
Ed's love of music and electronics provided a perfect opportunity in the Disc Jockey industry. For over 20+ years, DJ "Electric Eddie" spun vinyl at various night clubs, weddings, and other celebratory events. He also built several successful businesses, including delivery and appliance installation and property maintenance and handyman services.
Ed loved boating and fishing, enjoying excursions with family and friends to Lake Erie, local waterways and the Ohio River. He also loved movies, amassing a large collection of VHS tapes and DVDs, with special interest in space exploration, medical breakthroughs, and developments in science and technology.
Ed will be missed by many, especially his son Mark, granddaughter Kaylee, five sisters and brothers: Deborah, Chris (Heather), Kurt (Linda), Katie, and Paul (Lisa), and eight nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Dayton National Cemetery.
