YONTZ, Edith M., 85, of Springfield, passed away January 11, 2014 in Forest Glen. She was born March 22, 1928 in Franklin County the daughter of Thurman and Ethel (Cox) Lyons. Edith worked in the claims department at Credit Life of 15 years, prior to that she had worked at McLean Cleaners for a number of years. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. Edith was an avid euchre player and loved following her favorite sports teams, The Cincinnati Reds, Notre Dame, The Ohio State Buckeyes and of course, TBDBITL. Survivors include four sons and spouse, Rick & Barb Yontz, Randy Yontz, Geno Yontz and Craig Yontz, all of Springfield; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Donna & Rufus Turner and Patty McDonald and one brother, Jim Lyons. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Yontz, one son, Terry Yontz and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Yontz. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. Raphael Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Catholic Central High School Michael Hodge Scholarship Fund or Community-Mercy Hospice.
