Dr. Thomas M. Board, Jr., MD, Col. USAFR (Ret.)

BOARD, Thomas McKinney, Jr., MD, Col. USAFR (Ret.), 81, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in his home. He was born August 3, 1936 in Louisville, KY the son of Thomas M. and Priscilla (Jones) Board, Sr. He graduated from St. Xavier High School, Cincinnati in 1954. He earned his graduate degree from The University of Cincinnati in 1958 and graduated from The University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1963. Thomas completed his residency at The University of Louisville in 1968. He served at Minot Air Force Base in Minot, ND through 1970 and then moved to Springfield, Ohio where he opened his urology practice and continued until his retirement in 2001. In addition to his urology practice, Thomas served in the United States Air Force Reserves, retiring as a Colonel. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Dinah (Deichert); three children and spouses, Thomas M. Board, III, Springfield, OH; David & Cassandra Board, Middletown, OH and Nicole & Brent Matthews, Charlotte, NC; four granddaughters, Reagan, Riley, Lauren and Hadley; one brother, Robert & Corinne Board, Prospect, CT; one sister, Pat & Leo Wilson, Pittsburgh, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday in St. Teresa Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Miami Valley, 1948 N. Limestone St., Springfield, Ohio 45503.
