Dr. Gregory S. Goings

GOINGS, Dr. Gregory S., 61, of Springfield, passed away April 6, 2018 in Good Shepherd Village. Greg was born on July 3, 1956 in Florence, Alabama to William R. and Sue (Jones) Goings. He was a 1978 graduate of Wittenberg University with a degree in music. In 1989 he graduated from The Ohio State University School of Medicine and practiced orthopedic surgery for over 20 years. Prior to his medical career he loved to sing in musicals and at age 13 played trumpet in Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. He was a devout Christian and a member of Living Waters Presbyterian Church. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 35 years, Debbie (Cappelli); three children, Maria (Kris) Lippencott, Stephanie (Derek) Gambill, and John Goings; two grandchildren, Preston and Leo, and sister, Lisa (Roger) Holt. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 - 7 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
