Donna Jeanne Swords

Swords, Donna Jeanne, 92, of Springfield, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 in Forest Glen Health Campus. Donna was born January 8, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio to Wilbur and Laura (Glover) Beekman. She was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II, and later graduated from the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati with her B.S.N. She retired from Mercy Medical Center in 1985 after 35 years of service, 23 years of which she served as a head nurse. She was also a member of the West Enon Church of God. Survivors include her five children, James Richard (Rebecca Jo) Swords, John Patrick Swords, Thomas Edward Swords, Jeananne Swords and Susan Elizabeth (Marc) Bayes; seven grandchildren, James, Jr., Chris, Brian, Chad and Autumn Swords, and Chris and Kyle Bayes; two great grandchildren, Becca and Hannah Swords; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marjorie Walsh. The family would like to thank the staff at Forest Glen for their excellent and compassionate care. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 - 6 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the West Enon Church of God, 4800 Snider Rd., Fairborn, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Enon Church of God.
