Donald N. Shirk

SHIRK, Donald N., 79, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024. Donald was born on July 5, 1945, to Donald H. Shirk and Lilian McNeil. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Peggy S. Shirk who sadly passed away in 2023 and the beloved father of Crystal L. Potter who was also his caregiver, Craig (Shannon) Griffin, Jason (Joeybeth) Shirk and Danny Sanders. Donald loved to go fishing, mushroom hunting, working on lawn mowers and going yard selling with his daughter and keeping his yard beautiful with flowers. Donald is survived by 11 grandchildren, brother, John “Farmer” Shirk; sister, Barbara Silvers and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy S. Shirk, his parents, a brother, George Shirk and sisters, Mary Thacker and Linda Gilliam. Donald will be laid to rest on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Rose Hill Burial Park. Services will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in Rose Hill Chapel.
