WALSH, Dick, 63, of Arlington, Texas, died suddenly at home of a heart attack on July 28, 2016. His family and friends were grief stricken, as he was loved by all. Dick was born in Springfield, Ohio, on July 24, 1953, to Joe and Mary Louise Walsh. He was raised in Springfield and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1971. Everyone who knew Dick growing up loved him, as he was the type of person who lit up a room and made friends everywhere. He was fun, friendly and easygoing, and always wanted to know how you were doing. He had a generous nature and an infectious laugh. As a result, he still has many friends and family living in the Springfield area. Dick married Pam Pendley from Lexington, Kentucky, on April 4, 1981, the same year he started his career with Lorillard. Dick and Pam celebrated their 35th year of marriage just a few months ago. Dick and Pam created a beautiful family together over the years: Jeff Walsh (Kristen Perkins), Lindsey Walsh, and Charles Poynter (Amber), and three beautiful grandchildren: Zoe, Max and Maddie. Dick was a wonderful family man as his wife, children and grandchildren will attest. He filled his time with their activities and was never happier than when spending time with them. They felt his warmth and love and caring nature. Dick retired in January of this year from a very successful senior management career at Lorillard. He was grateful for the opportunity to spend even more time with his family, especially Pam and the grandchildren. Besides his immediate family, Dick is survived by five siblings and two in-laws: Tom and Janis Walsh of Springfield, Peg Carlson of Atlanta, Patti and Mark Hannahan of Cincinnati, Mary Beth Jochum of Springfield, and John Walsh. They all, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and Pam's siblings and their spouses, loved Dick and will sorely miss him. A funeral ceremony, attended by immediate family and friends, was held in Arlington Texas on August 4.
