Daniel E. Moon

Moon, Daniel E., 74 of Springfield, passed away on May 14, 2018 in his residence. He was born March 7, 1944 in Springfield the son of Leroy and Catherine (Phares) Moon. Dan had been employed as a computer ad composer in advertising at the Springfield News-Sun for over 40 years before retiring. He was a 1963 graduate of Catholic Central and a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church. Survivors include his three daughters, Suzie Moon, Amanda Carroll and Rachel (Mike) Hannon; four grandchildren, Zac and Darren (Autumn) Carroll and Michael and Jack Hannon; two great grandchildren, Brookelynn and Darren, Jr.; brother, Richard (Charlotte) Moon and sister, Kay Ann Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four siblings, Mary Moritz, Joseph, William and Angela Moon. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Father John MacQuarrie officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
