HEMBREE, Dallas Raye, 70, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Coxton, KY to Robert and Clara (Moses) Hembree, Dallas lived most of his life in Fort Wayne, IN, relocating to Springfield as an employee of International Harvester where he worked as a UAW member and a journeyman carpenter. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Vietnam War. Dallas was strong and smart with a passion for many hobbies including trains, wood working and metal detecting. Survivors include his loving wife, Ann; four children, Jon (Leslie) Hembree, Daniel (Christina) Hembree, Leanna (Devin) Black and Brandi (Stephen Carroll) Hembree; 10 grandchildren, Jenna, Leah, Trent, Lilleann, Emma, Isabella, Bristol, Nevaeh, E'Lora and Evan; one brother, Bob Hembree; and numerous family members and friends who he cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 - 7 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Burial will be held in the Dayton National Cemetery at a later date. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Singh, OHC, Springfield Cancer Center, Springfield Regional Medical Center and Ohio's Community Mercy Hospice.
