Balch, Dale L, 77, of Springfield, died June 6, 2013 in his residence. He was born May 30, 1936 in Gallipolis, OH to Virgil W. and Fern A. (Lamm) Balch. Dale was a driver with UPS for 20 years and more recently worked in maintenance for Northwestern High School for 20 years. Dale was known as the "Voice of the Warriors," announcing both football and basketball during the 80s, 90s, and beyond. His love for all school sports was only outweighed by his love for his family and friends, especially his 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was lovingly called "Grandpa" by many other children in the community. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ethel M. (McNier); four children and spouses, Tonya (Mark) Whitacre, Cincinnati, OH, Timothy (Melissa) Balch, Myrtle Beach, SC, Troy Balch, Covington, KY, and Thomas (Kim) Balch, Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother in-law Delores and Paul Entler. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 9, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at North Hampton Community Church, 110 Community Drive, North Hampton, with a service immediately following at 4:00 pm with Chaplain Chad Vickers officiating.
