Dale E. Ritter

RITTER, Dale E., 71, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in his home. He was born September 4, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Harry E. and Helen (Nichols) Ritter. After graduation from Arcanum High School, he attended Miami University where he was a member of the Men's Glee Club under the direction of Dr. John Wabrick. Dale served Miami in many capacities as an alumnus, steering the Mad River Valley Chapter for many years as recognized by his receipt of the John Dolibois Award. He further served on the Alumni Board at the University and remained active in the Alumni Association. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Visha (Fitzsimmons); son Gavin Ritter and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Ritter. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter and a brother, Harold "Bud." Friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday in St. Bernard Catholic Church with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Miami University Dale Ritter Glee Club Fund, 725 E. Chestnut St., Oxford, OH 45056.
