Cosmas "Cossy" Catanzaro

Catanzaro, Cosmas "Cossy", 20, beloved oldest son of Dominic and Kim (Armentrout) Catanzaro, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center after collapsing while jogging. A beautiful mix of his mother's compassion and love, and his father's strength and leadership, Cossy excelled at football, basketball and baseball but more importantly was an exemplary person. Cossy welcomed strangers, encouraged those struggling, and was met everywhere he went with smiles and high fives. Cossy was the pride and joy of his parents, grandparents, Bob and Sue Armentrout and Virginia Catanzaro, best friend to his brother, Dominic "Deece" Catanzaro, loyal protector of his baby sister, Isabella Catanzaro, devoted boyfriend to his long term girlfriend, Madison Sullivan and dedicated teammate of the Wittenberg Tigers Football team and Catholic Central Community. He was also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and "framily" that he shared his love with. Cossy was preceded in death by his grandfather and namesake, Cosmas Catanzaro. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday in the Jason Collier Gymnasium at Catholic Central School. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Central School. Arrangements handled by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
