Collene Headley

Headley, Collene L., 88, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Good Shepherd Village. Collene was born July 14, 1927 in Union City, IN to Homer Ary and Cora (McDowell) Smith. She worked for Robbins and Myers for 17 years, and later retired from Champaign Nursing home after 11 years of service. She was also a member of Beacon Street Church of Christ in Christian Union. Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Grover; two grandchildren, Pamela (Michael) Collins and Jay (Lisa) Grover; two great grandchildren, Jacob and Alicia Grover; and her neighbor and close friend, Betty McRobie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. in 2000; two siblings, Kenneth Ary and Betty Graham; and son-in-law, John Grover. The family would like to thank Comfort Keepers for their kind care, especially caretaker Sheila. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
