BEAMISH, Clarence L. "Les", 89, of Springfield passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Oakwood Village. He was born November 3, 1923 in Springfield the son of James W. and Emily (Rogusky) Beamish. Les graduated in 1942 from Catholic Central High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942 and was an Aviation Machinist 2nd class when he was discharged in 1946. He had been stationed in Pensacola, Florida, San Diego and Pearl Harbor aboard a troop transport aircraft carrier. Les retired from the State of Ohio Employment Service. Prior to which he worked at Dawson Ripley and sold real estate and life insurance part-time. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Knights of Pythians Ingomar Lodge, Civitan International, a life member of VFW 1031, DAW, PERS, AARP-AFSCME and Elderly United. Les was also active in his children's sports as a coach for baseball for many years. Survivors include two daughters and spouses, Regina A. (Thomas) Estep and Mary (George) Mann, Springfield; two sons, Michael (Virginia) Beamish, Troy, OH and James Beamish, Columbus, IN; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (Susan) Beamish, Matthew (Kim) Beamish, Andrea (David) Breakwell, Greg (Jessica) Mann, Jennifer (Doug) Mathias, Ashley (Chris) Reed, David Mann, Jordan Beamish and Nicholas Beamish; four great grandchildren, Louie, Joey, Anna and Sylvia Beamish; a special caregiver, Kristen Caudill and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina in 2012, his parents, brothers, Robert, James and Stanley Beamish and a son, Thomas. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. Teresa Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Teresa Church or Oakwood Village.
