Myers, Clarence A. "Benny", 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2014 in his residence. He was born October 7, 1928 in Moline, Illinois the son of Eugene and Ethel (Hammock) Myers. He was employed as a foreman at Robbins & Myers for 34 years, retiring in 1986. He was also employed at Wespatt Inc., retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, past president of RAMCO Club at R&M, member of Eagles Lodge # 397, and was active in Little League boys and girls baseball teams as a manager from 1965-1980. He was a Boy Scout manager for 4 years and also volunteered as a trainer for Junior Achievement during the 60's. Benny was also a Korean War Air Force Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Irene H. (Horstman) whom he married in 1952; his four children and spouses, Donny, Stephen (Lilian) Myers of Vail, Colorado, Julie Medley (Lynn Mahar) of Springfield, and Nancy (Jeff) Messenger of Bowling Green; six grandchildren, Britney Medley, Merissa (Aaron) Coffman of Springfield, Allison (Jake) Osborne of Cincinnati, Kari, Anna and Natalie Messenger of Bowling Green; four great grandchildren, Reagan, Miles and Emerson Osborne and Brayden Freyman and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Katherine Nichols and Elaine Cox and one brother, Bob. A heartfelt thank you to Pam, Tammy and Maureen our angels from Community Mercy Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday in St. Teresa Church. Visitation will be held two hours prior in the church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice, St. Teresa Church or the charity of your choice.
