Reeb, Clare May (Gaier), 88, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Oakwood Village. Clare was born December 11, 1928 in Springfield, OH to Raymond and Lucille (Spang) Gaier. She was a 1946 graduate of Catholic Central High School, attended Mt. St. Joseph College, was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 207 and worked at Credit Life Insurance. Survivors include her seven children and spouses, Ann (Kevin) Doane, Springfield, Colleen (Paul) Severyn, North Canton, OH, Michael, Glendale, AZ, Kathleen (Ron) Griffith, Springfield, Rae Michele (Kyle) Burke, Alexandria, VA, Patrick, Phoenix, AZ and Tim, Erwin, NC; 13 grandchildren, Ryan, Colin, Brendan, Cuyler, Philip, Emily, David, Elizabeth, Sarah, Erin, Neil, Justin and Amber; eight great grandchildren, Alexis, Carson, Lauren, Adelyn, Connor and Declan, Harper and Lucas; two brothers, Raymond "Buddy" Gaier and Tony (Bev Powell) Gaier; brother-in-law, Donald (Bev) Reeb; sister-in-law, Sr. Patricia Reeb, S.M. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph Neil Reeb in 2014; brother, Don; sister, Joan; sisters-in-law, Sue and Betty. Clare May's greatest joy was her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. We all share great memories of her famous "grandma cookies". She had the heart of an angel and was always willing to help anyone. She enjoyed taking trips with Elderly United and Freedom Years. She also enjoyed volunteering at Community Hospital Horticultural Group and the Kuss Center. She will be a tremendous loss in our lives, but now is at peace, no more pain and dancing with Neil in heaven. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday in St. Bernard Church. Entombment will follow in St. Bernard Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard Church.
