Dyke, Charles, R., 91, of Toledo, formerly of Springfield, Ohio passed away on January 21, 2016. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 26, 1924 the son of George M. and Gertrude M. (Adkins) Dyke. He had been employed by the Masonic Home for 18 years and prior to that time worked for the Ohio Edison Co. for thirty-six years. He was a member of New Hope Church and a Past Master of St. Andrews Lodge F & AM and was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. He was a WWII US Army Veteran. Later in life he embraced quilting as an art form. He made over 25 quilts for his family and over 600 flags that were given away. Survivors include his wife, Edith M. (Brown); daughters, Carolyn (Harold) Carr, Vickie Zettler and Kimberly McKinley all of Springfield; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-children; seven step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann in 2003; sisters, Maxine Grubb and Geraldine Ross and brothers, Wally and Victor Dyke. Visitation will held from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME, 1660 E. High St., Springfield, Ohio 45505 followed by Masonic Services and one hour prior to the funeral. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Moehn officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum with Military Honors. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 10:00 am in the Heritage Church of God, 3520 Strayer Rd., Maumee, OH, 43537.
