Charles J. "Chuck" Horner

Charles "Chuck" J. Horner, born on October 20, 1949, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, in Springfield, Ohio. He was the beloved son of the late Opal and Charles Jacob Horner. Chuck is survived by his cherished children: Charles J. Horner (Jodie), David W. Horner (Rebecca), Heather Morgan, and Kristopher Morgan. He was a proud grandfather to Cambria Thomas (Dakota Palmer), Mathew Horner (Shania), Chaz Morgan, Chelsea Schalm, (Dillon), Tymberli Morgan, Timmy Ruf and Michael Morgan (Nicki). And doting great-grandfather to several. Chuck was a devoted brother to James Horner, John Horner, Betty Hayslip, Connie Petty, and Sue Maddox, and is predeceased by his sister, Kay Pond. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who admired his humor, kindness, and compassion. A proud American, Chuck served his country with distinction as a soldier in the Army's 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he pursued a career as a carpenter and bartender, among other roles, where he was known for his work ethic and camaraderie. Chuck was an ardent fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, and WWE Wrestling. He found joy in nostalgic word search books and cherished playing bingo with his friends at Wooded Glen. A very special thanks goes to Debi Huff! Debi is the independent living concierge at Wooded Glen. She helped Chuck any way she could and became a great friend. Chuck's legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived.
