MURRAY, F. Charlene, 83, of Springfield, passed peacefully into heaven September 21, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Caldwell, OH the only child of James Marcus "Turk" and Phyllis Ruth (Potts) Murrey. She worked as an operator for the Springfield News Sun for a number of years and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo in South Charleston. Charlene married her beloved husband, Jack, on October 8, 1951. They raised six children, Kim (Steve) Hunter, Marc (Sue) Murray, Missy (Wes) Masters, Shannon (Bob) Spinazzola, Shawn (Tonya) Murray and Heather Jacobs (boyfriend Jeff Weese). She loved and enjoyed her 14 grandchildren, Chris (Amy) Hunter, Elizabeth Hunter, Jon Hunter, who sadly preceded her in death, Ben (Kori) Hunter, Stephanie (Mike) Larson, John-Marcus (Nina) Murray, Josh (Sarah) Murray, Chad (Andrea) Masters, Jennifer (Tony) Graham, Meighan (Jon) Rupert, Matthew (Katie) Hopkins, Nick Hopkins, Melissa Hopkins and Brandi Murray; seven great grandchildren, Katie, Kyle, Ethan, Ava, Alex, Lilly and Gabriel. Charlene loved to go to Bingo with her friends, grocery shopping (she always knew where the bargains were), beating us at Scrabble, playing Solitaire with as many players as possible and a wicked game of "spoons" - watch out for those nails. She always had a tender heart toward animals and really enjoyed watching the birds at their feeders and the cats playing in the yard. Charlene blessed all who knew her with much love and happy laughter and will be sorely missed by all. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME and one hour prior to the mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, South Charleston. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or the Animal Welfare League.
