Carol "Jeanie" Strickland

STRICKLAND, Carol "Jeanie", went to meet her Lord and Savior August 29 in Springfield, Ohio. She was born in Cedarville Ohio on Oct. 22, 1941 daughter of Raymond and Christine (Davis) Strickland. She graduated from Springfield High School with an emphasis in business office. Jeanie worked for Craftsman Type in Dayton for many years as a bookkeeper. After retiring she worked part time for offices such as Dr. Tetz as a data entry specialist. Jeanie loved music and was a talented singer and pianist. She used her skills for the LORD and assisted many Nazarene congregations locally (as well as other denominations) with their Music Ministries. Her last church being the Northridge United Methodist Church in Springfield, Ohio. She and her sister Beverly and brother Lowell formed the Strickand Trio and traveled locally to churches and events singing. She also was in a small instrumental group that played and sang "oldies" in the area for various organizations such as Kiwanis and social events.  Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Richard, Lowell and Beverly (Hogue) and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors include cousins, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and even great-great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday at the Northridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Woode officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church from 10:00-10:30 AM. In leu of flowers the family suggests making a donation to your church's music ministry.
