Carmi W. Jacobs

Jacobs, Carmi W., 88, of Springfield, died December 23, 2014 in his residence. He was born June 22, 1926 in Springfield, OH to Eston O. and Matilda (Dillman) Jacobs. Carmi owned and operated Carmi's Barber Shop for 28 years and later worked at Navistar retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ruth M. (Nuss); four children, Thomas E. (June) Jacobs, WI, Sandra Cochran, Springfield, Julie Anderson, Troy, OH, and Amy (Lew) Goodwin, Ft. Wayne, IN; numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol A. Heath. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
