WELLS, Carl Lee "Donald", 93, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born December 18, 1924 in Dewey, KY the son of Paris and Alice (Sherman) Wells. Donald worked as a welder at Robbins & Meyers for 11 years and later for Cascade Corp. for 28 years. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served in WWII aboard the USS Lassen AE-3 as a 20mm gunman. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Alta (Porter) Wells; three children, Vickie Wells, Sandra Greenwalt and Sharon & Glenn Linnane; grandchildren, Lori Wells, Luke Wells, Terry Zwillng, Jessica & Jared Reviea, Jenny & Ian Willman and Glenn & Whitney Linnane, Jr.; great grandchildren, Cody, Nick, Christina and Matt Zwilling, Zara (Amber) & Miranda Justice, Lauren and Jesselyn Reviea, Brennen, Calliope and Emerson Willman, Dellah and Harrison Linnane. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward; sisters, Ruth, Roberta and Imogene; son, Carl V. Wells; son in law, Jim Greenwalt, granddaughter, Jonica Zwilling and grandson, Tony Michael Wells. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
