CULTICE, Carl "Curly", 91, of Cedarville, Ohio died peacefully Sunday, January 5, 2014. He was born on a farm outside of Springfield to the late Homer and Ora Cultice and lived in the Cedarville area his entire life. Curly was born April 2, 1922 and attended Cedarville High School where he met and married Betty Spence. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Army as a medic traveling through Europe during WWII. After the military he was employed by the Morris Bean Company as an inspector until retirement. Curly was a generous and active member of the Cedarville Community, Volunteer Fire Dept. and Masonic Lodge. He was a loyal fan of Cedarville College athletics and was a lifelong member of the Clifton United Presbyterian Church. Curly played baseball and softball and continued to stay active with exercising, bike riding and gardening into his 90's. He was a supportive and loving grandparent that never missed a school, athletic or family event. Curly was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, with whom he was blessed to spend over 64 years of marriage, his parents, Homer and Ora Cultice, and brother, Ervin Cultice. Survivors include his son, Michael (Carole) Cultice and grandchildren, Branden (Christy) Cultice, Ashley (Mike) Schibler and Jorden Cultice. He also leaves a great granddaughter, Olivia Schibler and his sister, Rachel Knaub. Curly was a caring, kind, and compassionate person that always found the good in everyone. His cheerful smile will be extremely missed by his family and everyone who knew him. Visitation will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 after the visitation with Rev. Arby Conn officiating. A family burial will be held on Thursday in Garlough Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Clifton United Presbyterian Church or the Cedarville Fire Dept.
