Stultz, Byron R., 67, of Springfield passed away at home on Friday, September 11, 2015. Byron was born August 6, 1948 in Washington D.C. to the late Byron and Anne (Cast) Stultz. He graduated from Catholic Central High School and Wright State University before serving two years in the United States Army. Byron taught for the next 28 years in the Clark-Shawnee Local School District primarily as a math teacher to seventh and eighth grade students at Possum Middle School. After retiring in 2000, he volunteered his time for 13 years with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He felt fortunate to live in such a genuine community as Springfield. He is survived by his close friend Joy Metzger of Delaware, OH; his sisters, Mary Marino of Chicago, IL, Margaret (Dan) Baker of Urbana, OH, Patricia Knox of Mt. Zion, IL, Barbara (Greg) Carrico of Chandler, AZ; his brother, Albert "Bud" Stultz of Dayton, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who all loved him. In addition to his parents, Byron was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Charles Marino and Stephen Knox. Byron will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and selfless service to his family, his friends, and those in need. His family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with a St. Vincent de Paul service at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Teresa Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
