Trumbo, Burtis M., 73, of South Charleston, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born near Hodgenville, Kentucky on February 16, 1940 to Ben and Rosa Trumbo. Burt enjoyed bluegrass music, practical jokes, and spending time on his farm in Kentucky. He retired from Navistar in 2002, after working there as a plumber for many years. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Violet (Eldridge) Trumbo; daughters, Mary (Tom) Veskauf, Nacole (Brian) Vogelsang, and Holly (Greg) Flax; grandchildren, Allison, Noah, Isabella, and Mason Veskauf, Brandon and Aaron Vogelsang, and Ryan, Andrew, and Lauren Flax; brothers, Stokely Trumbo, Ralph "Mac" (Julia) Trumbo, and George Trumbo; sisters, Dorothy Smith and Diane (Gene) Bertram; and numerous friends and family members. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ollie Hogue; brothers, Thomas Edward Trumbo, Stanley Trumbo, John Trumbo, Ben Trumbo, Jr., and Homer Trumbo; and a granddaughter, Megan Veskauf.
